As the Congressional Art Competition for High School Students came to a close, the Kaplan Gallery quickly transformed into a whole new vibe.
Currently, the installation of the _____Scape Exhibition is in progress and the anticipation and excitement for this show is building up. Slipping a variety of nouns into the blank of "_____scape," 12 artists investigate the semantic origins of landscape as a condition, shape or idea rather than the depiction of scenery. Skinscapes, Airscapes, and Interscapes are among the paintings, drawings and photographs on view. The show will feature the work of: John Adams, Sabine Carlson, Michael Farrell, Heidi Fowler, Lisa Kellner, Karey Kessler, Kim Manfredi, Steven Pearson, Rachel Sitkin, Theo Willis and Elena Volkova.
____Scape will be on view from June 1 to August 10 in the Kaplan Gallery, Second Floor. Gallery hours are noon to 9:00 pm Wednesday through Friday, and noon to 5:00 pm Saturday and Sunday.
