Clay is a wonderful medium for young hands and minds to explore as it is easy to manipulate and its transformation from raw material to finished product is amazing to both young and old. This six-week course covers the three basic handbuilding techniques of pinch, coil and slab through hands-on creation of forms that appeal to children. While this course is loads of fun it also slips in important ceramic concepts such as slipping, scoring, wedging and stages of drying. For children in grades K-5.
