Artists of all levels are welcome to this drop-in class. Clothed model will hold poses of various duration and instruction will be provided as desired by participants. VisArts will supply easels and drawing boards. VisArts supplies sodas and chips/cookies as well as one complimentary glass of wine. Wine and Beer sold; must be 21 to drink. It’s true, with the rise of online children’s educational programming; more and more kids never experience the thrill of drawing by hand. Not only have they missed the joy of creativity, they are also missing out on the techniques learned by doodling and drawing. This class combines fun with technique as kids use charcoal, pastels, ink, markers and pencils while learning real drawing concepts at an age appropriate level. We don’t promise your child will leave as a budding Picasso, but we know that your child will have a great time and will learn techniques that will stay with them always.

A little bit of this and a little bit of that equals a whole lot of fun! Mosaic,fused glass, painting and ceramics are just some of the possible materials in this mixed media class. Lots of take home projects and lots of fun!

Abstraction.This 16-week course is broken into four 4-week sessions and each four-week session can be taken independently. This class is a wonderful mixture of lecture and practice. The lecture portion will focus on composition, form, balance and harmony of color found in masterpieces. Students will use this knowledge to paint in the style of the period. There will be time for critique and guidance given for skill improvement. VisArts supplies canvas and paints. Other material list furnished one week before class.

This Happy Hour drawing is a great place to have fun and try your hand at sketching. We provide paper, sketch pencils and one free glass of wine and of course a great burlesque model. Sodas and chips are provided free of charge and beer and wine will be sold. No photography under any circumstances. You must be 21 and please bring ID.

Students will study basic shapes as they learn to develop value relationships while keeping a sense of the simple planes of the form. Additionally the students will develop the ability to see proportion based on relating angles, understanding anatomical landmarks and seeing simple abstract shapes. The student will  further develop their ability with charcoal drawingas they master the beginning phases of drawing the human figure.Each class will begin with gestures of short poses and work toward longer poses, enabling the students to work on mastering the handling of charcoal, understanding values, and furthering their understanding of the human form through basic anatomy.
