May 3 - June 28 7:00 - 9:00 pm Tuition: $230 Special Spring Rates $150 Instructor: Marjorie Forgues The analysis and execution of a detailed drawing in charcoal from a live model. The students will be taught to understand the structure and process of developing a realistic drawing as well as mastering the medium of charcoal.

4 Thursdays May 10 - May 31 7 4:00 - 6:00 pm Grades 3 -5 only Tuition: $80.00 Study basic drawing and painting concepts using a multi-media approach that helps students gain confidence with varied materials. Course covers the fundamentals of composition, design, perspective and construction. Students will work in charcoal, pencil, watercolor, acrylic. All materials provided.

Grades K-2 5 Tuesdays May 15-June 12  4:00 - 5:00pm Tuition: $62.50 Kids need access to art and they aren't getting it in school. In this fun class children will draw, paint, collage and 3-D sculpture all while they are having fun and developing important neural connections. Our kids need more than video screens, they need to touch and feel and create with their own hands. Ages K-2 Instructor: Stefie Jo Heideman

Grades 3-5 5 Tuesdays May 15-June 12 5:30-6:30pm Tuition: $62.50 This class concentrates on drawing and its relation to literature. Students will learn in the style of specific illustrators and will work on producing their own illustrated works that may include a narrative if desired. Cartooning techniques will also be covered. Pencils, charcoal, watercolor and acrylics will be used in this class and all materials will be provided.

Grades 6-12 May 23  3:30-6:00 pm Tuition: $20 per session Drop-in. During Open Studio Painting/Drawing our students get to explore a variety of drawing materials while sharpening their observational and technical skills. All levels welcome, including "beginner beginner" to young prodigy. For our drawers we will have a variety of materials, including charcoal, pencils and colored pencils as well as sketch paper.  Students interested in painting will enjoy learning first-hand, how to mix colors, apply paint using a variety of techniques, and create dynamic compositions in both representational (from observation) and non-objective (not from observation) types of artwork. Students will work in acrylic paint, which is supplied by VisArts, along with canvas boards. Students wishing to use stretched canvas can purchase an 11 x 14 canvas for $4.00 from VisArts.  This is a drop-in class,  but there is a 5 percent discount for buying 5 sessions at once, or 10 percent discount for buying 10 sessions at one time. 6 Saturdays June 23 - August 4 (no class 7/14) 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm Tuition: $90 This class is ideal for beginners as well as those in need of a "brush-up" course.  Fundamental drawing techniques primarily in pencil and charcoal are taught with exercises illustrating perspective, light, shadow, line and gesture. This course is the perfect foundation for advancing in drawing and painting of all kinds.
