Are you curious about the potter's wheel? Then come and get your hands wet and see what all the hype is about. This eight-week class covers the basics of the wheel and its capability to transform a lump of dirt into a beautiful vessel. You will learn how to prepare/wedge clay for throwing on a wheel. Students will master centerin, opening, and pulling forms to create bowls, cylinders, and vases. In the last two sessions, students will work on trimming and simple glazing techniques that can be applied to leather hard works and glazing of pieces. This class also includes access to Open Studio. Open Studio is the perfect time to practice what you learn.
