Figure Gesture and Drawing

Students will study basic shapes as they learn to develop value relationships while keeping a sense of the simple planes of the form. Additionally the students will develop the ability to see proportion based on relating angles, understanding anatomical landmarks and seeing simple abstract shapes. The student will further develop their ability with charcoal drawingas they master the beginning phases of drawing the human figure.
Each class will begin with gestures of short poses and work toward longer poses, enabling the students to work on mastering the handling of charcoal, understanding values, and furthering their understanding of the human form through basic anatomy.
