Gen-Y is an opportunity for young emerging artists to showcase their work in a professional art gallery. The exhibition is limited to aspiring artists 17 to 27 years of age from the greater District of Columbia, Maryland and Northern Virginia area. This year’s artists are selected by guest jurors Peter Dubeau and Molly Nuzzo. Peter Dubeau, Associate Dean in the School for Professional and Continuing Studies at the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA), Baltimore, and Molly Nuzzo, Assistant Professor of Art at Montgomery College, Rockville. “Gen-Y 2.0” is a culminative project for the VisArts Internship Program. Under the guidance of the VisArts Gallery Director/Curator and Exhibitions Coordinator,the interns are responsible for all aspects of the exhibition from the call for entry, graphic design, gallery handouts, labels and press release to installation and de-installation of the artwork.
