Starting with basic compositional ideas, Michael Sellmeyer’s recent work evolves into forms including non-objective paintings, drawings, and prints. Influenced by irregularities found in nature such as rocks and crumpled paper, he is interested in spontaneous ways to experiment with traditional art materials. He has taught art for twenty years and currently, is a faculty member at Montgomery College-Rockville Campus.
